Getting Around the Island

Our Wedding Ceremony and Events all take place in Oak Bluffs. Our recommended accommodations are all within walking distance of these events, and many of the ferries coming to the Island come directly into this picturesque town. We have also arranged for a taxi to meet the noon boat into Oak Bluffs on Saturday and drop people off at their accommodations.

This said, you may feel you don't need to go any farther. However, incase any of you are overcome with wanderlust and feel you have the timeto explore, we have compiled a list of island transportation.

Car Rentals

You will not need to rent a car for our planned activities on the Vineyard, unless you want to go exploring. The Island has a pretty good public transportation system, including island wide bus tours. However, if you would like to rent a car, here are some options.

Taxis

The Vineyard has several taxi companies that can provide personalized, door-to-door service. Taxis meet all incoming ferries at Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs, and all scheduled planes arriving at the airport in season. Taxis pick up anywhere on the island by arrangement as well.
