Getting There

It can definately be challenging to get to Martha's Vineyard, but well worth the effort. The key is to give yourself plenty of time. We cannot stress enough how important it is to make your travel plans as soon as possible. Boats

Unless you fly directly onto the island, you will have to take a ferry there. Ferries depart from Woods Hole, Falmouth and New Bedford Massachusetts. There is also ferry service from Quonset Point, Rhode Island. Many boats come directly into Oak Bluffs Harbor.

Island Queen
The Island Queen is a passenger only ferry that departs from Falmouth, Massachusetts. The Ferry provides parking for a fee. The Island Queen is only a 35 minute boat ride and brings you right to Oak Bluffs.

Steamship Authority
The Steamship Authority runs boats from Woods Hole and New Bedford Massachusetts. The New Bedford boat is a passenger only fast ferry service. If you would like to bring a car over, the Woods Hole Ferry is the only option. The ferry supplies parking for a fee, with shuttles from the parking lots to the boats. The New Bedford Boat will bring you directly to Oak Bluffs Harbor. The Woods Hole boat arrives in both Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. Vineyard Fast Ferry
The Vineyard Fast Ferry departs from Quonset Point, Rhode Island. It is a passenger only ferry. The ferry is located approximately 15 miles from both the Providence Airport and the Amstrak Station in Kingston, RI

Buses

Buses run from Logan Airport and New York City to Woodshole.

Bonanza Bus
Bonanza Bus lines offer service from Logan Airport in Boston. From Logan Airport you would head to Woods Hole. Bonanza also offers bus service from New York City to ferry locations.

Planes

Flying into either Boston or Providence is your best bet for this trip. From both of these locations you can fly Cape Air directly onto the island or take a bus to a ferry location.
